In as much as the name of TAU MU SIGMA PHI is at stake,

all members should know better

and safeguard the FAME of this fraternity.

Set aside the hubris but rather learn and

earn to pride yourself being a TAUAN.

Tau Mu will be there to witness the rising of the Sun

Ushering a rebirth

and eventually claiming our rightful spot

in the echelon of greatness.

A phrase easy to utter, yet difficult to practice.

Compromising on this issue, will destroy every philosophy of

what we believed in and emulate in real life as a physician Tauan.

Sacrificing, a brod because of a mistake

(Unless it involved death) is unconscionable.

Never banished or impeach someone we call our "Brother".

It is first of all Unchristian and Unbecoming of a Tauan.

We need to keep each other because this will make us stronger.

We can't abandon the young ones 

because they are the future of Tau MU.

Life is not perfect and there are no perfect brods,

Only brods that are well indoctrinated

and brods that will become dedicated to the ideals of the fraternity.

in that unspoken indescribable spirit of brotherhood.

It is that SIMPLE.

Every time we gather,

I meet new brods I have only heard of during my initiation.

They show the same Tau Mu spirit I saw while in UST.

There are always differences in how one sees a problem

and how to solve it but together.

We can do it.

I have not seen a brod who is not willing to cooperate for DA TA...

I don't live in the illusion that Tau Mu 

was destined to be forever existent.

Our demise will only be because we allow it to.

I have dedicated myself to see Tau Mu outlive me

and hope that one day I can call my son my Brod

and he will address me as Master Father!

with intent & malice would really want the destruction of Tau Mu?

The undergrad brods are taking a lot of flak,

lest we forget we were the ones who initiated and indoctrinated them!

Therefore before we point fingers at them,

let us first search ourselves to find out what really went wrong!

To paraphrase Michael Douglas

 from the movie "The American President"

with a twist, being a Tauan is advanced brotherhood,

You have to want it real bad.

We cannot separate our personal Tauan from the professional one

as being Tau Mu is a way of life.

debate the issues of the day.

and re-direct our great fraternity

to eventual legacy by being perpetual adversaries,

to extract the truth,

to lead a better future for our young brods

and hopefully prepare this organization

will be for a greater good- greater honor and glory for Tau Mu

and ultimately to serve God's people.

These are those times "that test men's souls",

and we will be judged not only by the ultimate outcome of our actions

but how we did it.

And there are/will be painful process and sacrifices to be made.

No matter how noble your goals are or how worthy is your cause,

those who want you down would not give a damn.

Do not jeopardize our very existence.

You cannot show arrogance to the very people

 to whom our future depends.

Young brods,

if there is one thing you need to do,

listen to you advisers.

They are there to help, to guide, to assure our continued existence.

It is OUR fraternity, our ship.

You are only temporarily at the helm.

You may flounder, ran off course or go aground

but do not let the ship that is the TAU MU SIGMA PHI sink.

You owe it to the brothers before you and to the generations to come.

TAU MU will continue to soar over everybody else.

excellence this fraternity was known for.

It will therefore follow that when the seeds are great, 

the harvest will be bountiful.

I do not question the love and devotion of the undergrad 

towards the fraternity, rather its Judgment.

One has to be able to introspectively weed out

what unconditional love is for the fraternity

and what it stands for against self serving intentions,

Brothers, change is inevitable.

It is an undeniable truth.

And as we close-in in our 60th Anniversary,

it is but crucial to look back

and contemplate what the fraternity has accomplished or become of,

regardless of era, year, batches, individual victories, 

failures and clashes,

but reflect as a FRATERNITY.

 

Things have changed brothers,

we can't deny it, and personally I can't deny it- to whom?

To the future brods, to their future activities, to their future missions,

we can't deny it to the fraternity.

 We are accepting these changes for the glory of the whole fraternity.

The picture is vague, we are still feeling some doubt about its effect,

but on top of it, 

we trust your wisdom and dedication as our elder brods.

 

Let us make this situation

an opportunity to change TAU MU for the better.
