"Success…..

And happiness"

by

Bro. Ricardo Q. Binsol, M.D.

In the daily grind of life, we all wake up in the morning and focus on the things ahead of us. Usually, it is what we believe to be the things that would bring us to our vision and purpose. However, life, somehow, has gotten really good in catching up on us. And we seem to veer off the path that we intend to travel. But, that, is what makes life interesting. We are all in this profession because we think we know what end we will accomplish. But the constant stresses of life put us in a path that doesn't seem to align with our own purpose.

Whenever we set our minds towards success and savor our accomplishments, I will always advise to stop and smell the roses. Please, do not think that you are much less of a dreamer and a visionary now as compared from before. Your work will provide lasting impressions on the generations to come and if you have a family, your kids will always know a father who always try to work hard to attain his vision. It is just that the current financial and worldly desires sometimes make us modify that vision for just a little bit. The truth is, we all have to pay our bills. But what is important is that we have the freedom to choose the road that we want to travel. After all, success is not what lies at the end of the road; it is what we see in the eyes of the people we meet along the way. It is not the worldly possessions that we accumulate when we are done with our travel. Rather, it is the inner feeling we have when we turn around at the very end and see the legacy that we left behind.

The US Declaration of Independence implies that we must always have freedom..."freedom of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". So, when you wake up in the morning, you just have to ask yourself, 'Am I happy with the life and liberty that I have, for me and my family?' If the answer is yes, then you're already home. The moneys that you earn are only icing on the cake. It is when you put money as your first priority that you can really lost your way. Remember that those who eventually win the rat race are still nothing but rats.

Your vision is not what you see in you, it is what the people around you see when they look at your work.

Strive to be happy.

"Hey, Brother,

where are you going?"

by

Bro. Ricardo Q. Binsol, M.D.

I realize it is easier to read emails than to write one. It is like
watching the ticker tape stocks go up and down but being too afraid to invest. A common fear, if you ask me. It is also easier to watch somebody else do the work while we sit in front of our computer monitors.

What I can't quite fathom is the fact that in spite of our fears, we seem to have the sense to continue watching. Is it because we somehow feel the need to be connected? If it is so, why can't some people realize that connection is akin to a human chain link wherein if one link is not present, it will weaken the rest of the chain and those who have the moral strength to stay have to work harder to maintain the link.

My question is, `If you keep watching, will you just walk away once you see the chain weakened beyond repair or will you put a little bit effort to strengthen the chain?'

This is the way I always look at our beloved organization. I see a few people trying to muster every strength they could to
maintain the bond of our brotherhood and the least I could do is help out.

And, then, somebody will read this and ask `Why?' It is because there will be a lot more newer generations brods who will follow after us and may eventually need a little guidance.

Do you realize how many younger/newer brods have written emails asking for advise only to disappear back into the void once their predicament is gone. Can I then ask, "Hey, Brod, where are you going?" Is Tau Mu just another name to tap when it is needed, only to be discarded and forgotten when not?

Whenever somebody ask me, "How can I repay you for the help that you did for me?", I always say to them `I am glad to have help you, Just Pass it forward'. When it happens to be a brod, it could mean give back a little bit POR DA TA.

Because when these few people turn their backs on us, I don't want you to keep asking, "Hey, Brod, where are you going?"

Hail Tau Mu!
